MEET YOUR GUIDE

Cole Aansen is a linguist and a certified Orton-Gillingham literacy intervention teacher and the founder of Aansen Literacy.

After years of teaching Orton-Gillingham (OG), Cole realized that certified, multisensory strategies are largely only available through private tutors, like herself.

“There is no comprehension strategy powerful enough to compensate if a student cannot read the words."

- Anita Archer, Ph.D.

Did you know that the human body, not just the brain, is a powerful learning tool? Each fingertip is equipped with over 3,000 touch receptors––messengers to the brain. Our vocal cords hold the key to differentiating sounds as they vibrate, or don’t vibrate. Our brains, like magic, form new pathways between the left and right hemispheres when the midline of the body is crossed, building a more integrated brain.

Standard education caters to the eyes and ears, but leaves learners’ bodies sitting still at a desk.

Learn more about the power of multisensory methods of mastering literacy.

Our mission is access

OG is currently only available through expensive certified tutors, or getting certified yourself.

Most accessible reading tools online are too childish for students still struggling to read & spell.

Access = a bridge to self-confidence, academic & professional success, and the ability to pursue their dreams.

Our Products

With a passion for literacy and an unwavering commitment to accessibility, Cole founded Aansen Literacy and designed tools based in the Orton-Gillingham approach to provide multisensory, structured learning opportunities for everyone.

Cole’s work reflects a deep understanding of the challenges faced by dyslexic learners and a dedication to creating a supportive environment for their educational success. Join Cole in democratizing literacy education and in creating a world where everyone can read.

"People assume dyslexics hate to read, when quite often, what we really hate is being confused, intimidated, and embarrassed by our struggles with reading."

"We love Cole! She's very patient, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable in dealing with children with learning differences."

Mother of a 14-year-old learner

"We struggled for years just to get the public school to test him for reading/writing disabilities. So frustrating and sad to watch him go through that and not be able to help him. He is much more confident about reading and writing now! We were so relieved once we found Cole, as his reading and writing started to improve immensely. He’s much more enthusiastic about all his school work now."

A mother of a fifth grade student with dyslexia

"Cole is compassionate and professional. She keeps our son's attention and fills the hour with quality instruction. We appreciate her diligence to work with him in a manner that will help him build confidence and grow academically."

Mother of a 12-year-old learner

"My daughter could not read before she started OG. Even with special ed intervention since KG she was unable to read. She was denied support from several local resources due to her struggles being "too complicated." Nothing I tried worked. I was watching my child fall through the cracks. It was heartbreaking. Now, she has more confidence in reading and writing. It has been wonderful to watch her learn and grow."

Mother of a 10-year-old learner

"Before OG our son was unable to read at all. Our public school put him through testing, which he failed, but they did not have a valid solution. They put him in special Ed, but he wasn't learning to read. We felt let down and helpless. OG gave us a plan of action to follow. I will not say it was easy, or that it was a quick fix, but it was something that worked! It helped me as a mother as well to understand why it was so hard for him."

Mother of a 10-year-old learner

"His reading scores have improved since he started, and wants to read more. He was on the verge of being held back a grade because of his reading, and now he is much more confident in his abilities after OG than he was before. I'm not sure what we would have done without it."

Father of a 10-year-old learner

"Cole is amazing with our son and awesome at keeping us all on the right track forward for his progress. So glad we have her."

Mother of an 11-year-old learner

Father of a 14-year-old learner

"Cole is so motivated and suggests great at home work. She has helped our 12 year old daughter tremendously. Thank you, Cole!"

Mother of a 12-year-old learner

"Don't give up! Kids with dyslexia and dysgraphia CAN learn to read and write. And they need your support. If you are frustrated, remind yourself that your child is even more frustrated, and with your support and encouragement they can improve."

- Jennifer, Mother of a 9-year-old learner
